One company uses SDL Contenta and SDL XPP for installation guides, where ROI is achieved by: 1) managing reuse of content within families of similar products; 2) reducing printing costs, and; incorporating reviewers outside the technical publishing department via a web-based workflow. Print cost reduction is achieved by an innovative approach where SDL XPP initially publishes a multilingual document, queries the resulting document to see how many pages were produced, and then applies alternative print specs to see if the content can fit in an even signature (multiple of four pages). Eliminating black pages alone has accounted for roughly $100,000 of savings annually.
