Q. SDL hosts my SDL TMS Application. How will I get the upgrade?
A: SDL Client Services will be contacting each of you individually to schedule/confirm your upgrade. They will coordinate with our hosting team and SDL Professional Services to ensure a smooth upgrade process.
Q. I host my own SDL TMS installation. How do I get the upgrade?
A. We recommend that you contact SDL Professional Services for assistance with the upgrade. The Professional Services team can help you carefully assess the impact of the upgrade on your TMS environment, as well as plan the upgrade and test your customizations. As with any major enterprise software release, we recommend thorough testing on a staging server prior to upgrading your production environment.
Please contact Client Services or see your release notification email for the download link.
Q. Will the upgrade to SDL TMS 2011 SP2 require any system downtime?
A. Yes, this upgrade will restart the TMS web server (IIS) and all SDL TMS services, so downtime will be required. If you are installing TMS on a multi-server environment, the database operations will only be performed during the install to the first server. Upgrade installation could take up to several hours on the first server for particularly large instances, due to required data updates, and not more than 15 minutes on any subsequent servers. For SDL hosted TMS applications, your SDL contact will be able to provide you with an estimate of the system downtime required as part of the upgrade process.
Q. Which web browsers are supported by SDL TMS 2011 SP2?
A. SDL TMS 2011 SP2 supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 OR 9.0 and Mozilla Firefox 2.0 - 6.0.
Q. I have a great idea for a new feature – how can I share it with SDL?
A. We welcome your feedback and would encourage you to sign up to http://ideas.sdl.com/. Status of the availability of the TMS Project TM from TMS UI, Language pairs verification between ITDs and job, and Preprocessed ITD’s with locked segments uploaded in TMS unlock again, have all been included as a result of suggestions posted by SDL TMS users.
Q. Are there any user groups for SDL TMS?
A. Yes SDL TMS has a large and active user group which welcomes new members. The group is independent from SDL and more details can be found at their website.

A. The release notes for SDL TMS 2011 are available to download here.

Q.Does SDL TMS 2011 provide support for SmartArt?
